Rob Murphy has joined Signature Flight Support Van Nuys as assistant general manager.

Murphy, a native of central New York who lived in the Daytona Beach, Fla., area for the past 15 years, is splitting time between the east and west offices as he helps on day-to-day matters and trains for moving into a general manager role. He previously worked in retail management with the Home Depot, most recently as an Operations Manager in Port Orange, Fla.

Murphy earned a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Studies from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Fla., and is working on his Master’s in Management and Human Resources, also from Embry Riddle. He also has a private pilot certificate, and says aviation has “always been a lifelong fascination.”

Murphy, who is married and has two children, enjoys golf, reading and cooking in his free time.
